Recognition

National Winners

Every year up to 150 of the nation’s most talented 15-18 year old artists, spanning nine disciplines, converge in Miami for YoungArts Week. Selected from up to 7,000 applicants from across the country, this week long gathering provides gifted young artists with life-changing artistic enrichment experiences. Master classes with internationally renowned artists, workshops, interdisciplinary activities, performances and exhibitions, YoungArts Week has it all. It is designed to support students at a critical juncture in their lives, and encourage their decision to pursue a career in the arts.

The students continue to be adjudicated during their performance at YoungArts Week by our esteemed National Panel. These Panelists then select the award level each student receives. There is $500,000 in total monetary awards and up to $10,000 monetary awards for individual winners. In addition to receiving monetary awards, all YoungArts Winners join the ranks of our 16,000 YoungArts alumni.

Gold / $10,000
Silver / $5,000
Level I / $3,000
Level II / $1,500
Level III / $1,000

Honorable Mention and Merit Winners

YoungArts also recognizes winners at the Honorable Mention and Merit levels. Honorable Mention winners receive a $250 award. Honorable Mention and Merit Award winners also join the ranks of our 16,000 YoungArts alumni, and go on to the top universities and conservatories across the country, and become leading professionals in their fields.

Regional Programs

In an effort to offer the YoungArts experience to a greater number of deserving young artists in the visual, literary and performing arts, all YoungArts winners from the South Florida and Greater New York City area, are invited to participate in YoungArts Miami and YoungArts New York, respectively.

These young artists will enjoy the rare opportunity to take master classes and interdisciplinary workshops from world-renowned artists, including Mikhail Baryshnikov, Bill T. Jones, Roberto Juarez and other masters in a variety of artistic disciplines, and will perform and exhibit their works at cultural venues in Miami and New York City. The YoungArts Miami and YoungArts New York experiences are in addition to the recognition, monetary awards and college scholarship opportunities that all YoungArts Winners receive, as well as continued support and artistic development afforded to them as YoungArts Alumni. YoungArts Miami and YoungArts New York are part of a plan to expand the YoungArts reach and impact through regional programs.
